Easterseals Colorado proudly offers more than ten exceptional programs tailored to empower children and adults living with disabilities. Two of these programs, Yay! Camp and Discovery Club are day camps for children ages 7 to 18 living with any disability or special health care need. These adaptive recreational programs are carefully crafted to help campers expand their boundaries and redefine their abilities in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Yay! Camp stands as a beacon of inclusivity, offering a transformative summer experience for children with diverse disabilities and special healthcare needs. Located in Highlands Ranch, our camp is a nurturing community where every child is valued, celebrated, and empowered to thrive.

Our program is meticulously crafted to offer a diverse range of activities that cater to varying abilities and interests. From fun theme days to creative art and crafts activities, every day is designed to foster personal growth, build confidence, and promote social interaction.

Central to our ethos is the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to form meaningful connections and cultivate friendships. Through structured group activities, team-building exercises, and shared experiences, campers forge bonds that extend far beyond the summer months, creating a network of support and belonging that lasts a lifetime.

As we embark on each summer session, our mission remains unwavering: to create a space where every child can shine brightly, regardless of their abilities or challenges. With dedication, compassion, and a commitment to excellence, Yay! Camp continues to be a beacon of hope, joy, and possibility for children and families across our community.

Discovery Club provides a once-monthly Saturday day camp for children ages 7 to 18 with disabilities to socialize, learn new skills, and connect with their community. Through a variety of outings and activities, participants have the chance to expand their horizons and enhance their quality of life.

While campers have fun with their peers enjoying activities such as art, games, music and more, parents and caregivers have a fantastic respite opportunity. This means they have time for self-care or taking care of other duties. Peace of mind for parents can be easy to find at these two programs as they work with families and caregivers to administer medications if needed and use a detailed camper health profile to ensure that staff can understand the needs of our campers.

Both Yay! Camp and Discovery Club embody Easterseals Colorado’s commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities to embrace their full potential, build meaningful relationships, and lead fulfilling lives. By fostering a culture of inclusivity, respect, and self- discovery, these programs create transformative experiences that leave a lasting impact on participants and their families.
