Looking for summer plans for your budding musician? Swallow Hill Music is hosting fun and interactive day camps for kids 6-18 years of age during June, July, and August. Each camp provides a full day of activities including learning the basics of music all the way up to playing in a real band.

This year, we’re offering a variety of 1-2 week camps specific to age groups, and built on different musical themes. These camps are led by our expert music instructors and special guests. No auditions or previous music experience are required!

Camps take place each day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Swallow Hill Music at Yale and Broadway in Denver. Check out details for each camp below and register at swallowhillmusic.org. We’ll see you this summer!

Explore! Music Camp is for music lovers ages 6-10. This camp is a great way to introduce your child to music or encourage your beginning musician! Campers at Explore! Music will discover the joy of music through their natural curiosity. Using instruments, creative play, movement, dance, songs, group performance and more, students will gain experience with all of the fundamentals of music. They will also learn about various genres of music through a different theme each week, create arts and crafts, and play outside each day.

Each camp has a different theme. This year’s themes are The Beatles, Pop, Superhero Soundtrack, Disney Hits, and World Music.

Campers will walk away from this week-long session with a foundation in music that will prepare them for success in their future musical endeavors. After care is available for an additional fee.

For older children we have our House of Rock Summer Music Camps. House of Rock is for aspiring musicians ages 11-14 or 15-18 depending on camp session.

At House of Rock, campers will get hands-on experience necessary to play in a band with other musicians. In each week-long session, campers learn how to use their gear, play through a sound system, understand and read music charts, find and create a part in the band, song write, and play with other musicians. Camps are open to a variety of instruments. Campers get numerous opportunities each day to play and practice in duos, trios and in a full band setting. All ensemble and band work is taught and directed by the camp faculty. Each week of camp ends with a concert – complete with a full sound system, sound engineer, and lights.

House of Rock takes place each day 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
