Excel Academy K-8 is a public charter school of choice serving 500 students within Jeffco Public Schools. Our custom-built 21st-century facility and campus is located in beautiful northwest Arvada. Founded in 1995, Excel Academy is a community of students, educators, and families committed to enriching instructional experiences that are flexible and appropriate for every child. Our school utilizes a variety of intentionally adopted curricula and flexible instructional strategies to differentiate and support each student in becoming an increasingly self-directed learner within a respectful learning environment. We are an enrichment school where project-based learning, gifted and talented strategies, intentional cross-grade multi-age interactions, activities that harness student interest areas, and content aligned field studies in all grades enhance and expand upon standards-based curricular content. Extended overnight field studies begin with a one-night excursion in 4 th grade, include Mountain Lab School in 5 th grade, and build up to a week in Washington, D.C. in 8 th grade. Strong parental involvement, small class sizes, character education, and restorative practices help our students exemplify our core SOAR values of Self Discipline, Outstanding Effort, Acceptance of Others, and Resilience. Tours held every Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. when school is in session, no RSVP necessary.
