Do you yearn for a school community that honors your child’s individuality?

Westgate Community School is a public, tuition-free charter school providing educational opportunities to all students. We offer something different – and distinguished – for K-12 gifted education. We nurture the whole child – mind, body, and community with traditional and beyond-the-classroom opportunities. Our six-acre outdoor education campus includes six outdoor classrooms, pollinator gardens, goats, chickens, and bees with a curriculum complemented by a full-time environmental education specialist.

Since opening our innovative school for gifted and creative learners more than 13 years ago, Westgate students have benefited from our rigorous academics, specials, student clubs, activities.

At Westgate, we support our teachers in meeting the individual needs of students and nurturing creativity in the classroom.

Kindergarten – 8th Grade:
Mixed-aged, ability-based classrooms
Average class size is 25 students
No homework policy (if productive in class)

All students take art, iLab, music and physical education

High School:
Tuition-free courses taken on campus at Front Range Community College – Westminster
Students can earn an associate degree or a certificate along with their high school diploma
Senior service trips to Thailand, Costa Rica, and Belize
Individualized senior internships at the Colorado State Senate, Anschutz Medical Center, a law firm, music production firm and more
Graduates have been accepted at Stanford, New York University, Colorado College, University of North Dakota School of Aeronautical Sciences and more
